A very nice version of this fairy tale by Kenneth Branagh. It was both modern and very aesthetic. At its exit, "the Circle of Poets Disappeared" I was deeply angered : there was Peter Weir, an original producer that I followed with interest, bending obediently to the codes and conventions of hollywood, the sad Robin Williams histrioner without shame, and the young Ethan Hawke fail to communicate any emotion remarkable. As for the final consensus, that was supposed to reassure us as to the seeds of individual revolt planted in the hearts of good students disciplined, its effectiveness tear was simply unbearable. It must be admitted that we have swallowed so much snake hollywood since our level of demand has declined dramatically : we are now ready to acknowledge that Weir had still managed to save his soul by preserving enough weirdness in the film to undermine (a little) obviously programmatic of the scenario ; to laugh heartily at the one man show of Robin Williams, always much better when it comes to us to enjoy ; to admire the fragile young man beautifully played by Robert Sean Leonard - and, suddenly, question the blow on what has happened to this actor touching between this role convincing and its re-emergence in 2004 as a side-kick Dr. House! I preferred the film in the cinema, and I was disappointed with the long version so-called novel, I was expecting frankly better.... Magnificent performances of the actors and a kind of western that provides on the pleasure. As promised, I amend my comment about the soundtrack VF because Warner made a big effort and we, finally, proposes a track VF HD, the note goes from 1 star to 4 stars. Paramount and Fox are taking the seed, there is that the idiots who do not change their opinion... *********** First Comment....................... Totally agree with the Small Collector. If we demand nothing, we have nothing. I will modify my comment positively, when the publisher, in this case Warner decides to give us systematically a BR really HD as for the VO than the VF. Well yes it is a bad note without having seen the film, it is a bad mark to make things happen. Pro VO against Pro VF? no, this is not the right debate, there's room on the BR to put the 2 pistes. De more an editorial policy that can be changed, the Germans very often have rights to the 2 tracks HD, pourquoipas France. I sincerely hope that this title will follow the same example, that Pacific Rim and that of other publishers such as Paramount or the Foxnous will, in turn, tracks HD mixed VO+VF.. I received the DVD some ten days after it is ordered, therefore, quite in the time. This DVD is full of bonus and I am absolutely delighted. In a word, very satisfied with this DVD. I recommend it to everyone and especially to the many fans of Ryan Gosling who have not seen it yet and for all the other actors who are also absolutely perfect.
